The Importance of Portraiture

Change… we can’t stop it.  We are all so busy keeping up with day-to-day aspects of family life.  One day our children are taking their 1st steps and in the blink of an eye, they are stepping into the world of college and independence.  When was the last time you stopped and took a breath?  When was the last time you recorded a piece of your family history?

I believe that one of the most important things parents can do for their children is to create visual memories.  Something for them to look back upon when they are grown.  In every family, the treasured keepsakes are portraits of family members.  Seeing a portrait of loved ones evokes memories and stories of generations past, but not forgotten.  Portraits are a wonderful teacher for future generations to learn about their past.
